Who writes this, and what we hold it to.

Our promise

• ▸Every ounce earns its place. No pack gets ranked on box claims. We verify the weight on our own scale, carry it on real trails, and note how it held up at mile ten, not mile one. It's the whole reason we exist.
• ▸Independence over payouts. We earn affiliate commissions on some links, but verdicts are set on the merits before money is considered. A brand can't buy a spot, a badge, or a softer sentence. See our disclosure.
• ▸Real numbers, honest limits. Where a spec is the manufacturer's stated figure rather than one we verified ourselves, we call it listed, not measured. We test on real trails with a kitchen scale and our own two feet, not a certified lab, and we're straight about it.
• ▸We keep it current. 20 reviews and guides and counting, re-checked as new gear ships and brands revise their lineups.
